Colden Common Football Club is a football club based in Colden Common, near Winchester, Hampshire.
Reformed in 1956, with the Banford family at the fore.
Although founded as a Saturday Club CCFC have cause to thank their Sunday team for providing the foundation for a remarkable rise through the leagues in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Competing in the Eastleigh and Southampton Football League were sparse with just the Eastleigh Benevolent Cup and Southampton Junior Division 4 title jostling for space in the trophy cabinet. However, the decision to field a Sunday side 1973 to 1983 eventually provided glorius repercussions.

Saturday Football. Rapid progress followed. The journey from Southampton Junior League Division 2 to Hampshire League Division 1 some eight levels took just six years guded by Ron Shaw, Chris and Ray Light and Ken Brady (amongst others)
Prior to 2003/04, and then last season, the club's proud moment came in 1991/92 when Keith Tollervey and Dave Hadfield led Common to its first Hampshire League championship, with Andy Long as captain.
A second title followed in 1995/96 (Steve Franklin & Barry Cox) sandwiching our 1993/94 Southampton Senior Cup success.
Dave Hadfield and Keith Dumper preceded Steve (Muddy) Waters who took the helm and elusive success was registered again, the Andover Senior Cup in 2003.

Meanwhile, having moved into Hampshire League (Combination) Football , Common Reserves took up the challenge laid by the first team. Common have secured 4 Combination Titles (in six Seasons) and the Trophyman Hampshire League Combination Cup twice in the period 1998/2004.
The youth side of the Club has under 16's and under 18's who 'go through the ranks' to boost the senior squad.
In addition the Veterans show the Club in the right light while gathering more members as the years go by.
Being crowned Champions of the Hampshire Premier League for the first time (2008/09) was a great success for The Club. To retain that title last season was a monumental achievement and one that gave us considerably more satisfaction, as it was achieved under fledgling managerial duo Ged Magee and Mick Pratt. Although they would be the first to recognize the efforts of Lance, Ryan, the managerial team and the players, it was Ged, Ged and Twinkle who led from the front.
Colden Common Football Club has a record to be proud of historically as is shown in the Hounours elsewhere in this programme.
Common Veterans, led by Elliott Costick continue to show The Club in the right light and gather more and more members as the years go by, while our home ground (lovingly tended by Eric Laversuch and his ‘band’) is the envy of most.
Any small club needs a sound ‘back-room’ and we are indeed fortunate to have an outstanding committee and loyal sponsors ~ H.J.DUNFORD & SON (Motors) LTD in particular ~ as well as many players who show CCFC the commitment and loyalty much respected around the County.
Behind the scenes the likes of the Banford’s - Jack, Angie & Cliff, Eric & Barbara Laversuch, Steve Long, Janet Lissenden, Dave Hadfield, Darren Heskins, Barry Cox, the Flood’s, to name but a few, have all featured prominently or still feature for The Common Cause to help make Colden Common FC ‘The Friendly Club’, and “….A Grande Olde Team to Play for……..”
